Love Hercule Poirot, fabulous food, and the thrill of a little drama (the murder-mystery kind, not the dating app kind)? Skip the small talk and swiping right — this is your chance to dress to impress and put your "little grey cells" to the test in a truly unforgettable evening.

    What’s the Setup?

Before the event, you'll receive a juicy Character Profile full of secrets, motives, costume suggestions, and mysterious missions. On the night, you’ll step into character — no script, no actors, just you and your fellow guests stirring the plot to life.

You could be recovering stolen jewels.
    Blackmailing a gentleman guest.
Flirting your way into an alibi.
And here’s the twist: the murderer doesn’t even know it’s them — until the end. Yes, it might be you. Cue dramatic gasp.

    Champagne for Best Character Performance
    Certificates for Clever Detectives
Endless bragging rights for surviving in style

    Where: The Old Course Hotel
    Dress Code: Black-tie fabulous

For: Clever, charming singles who like a little plot with their pasta

So, polish your shoes, practice your Poirot accent, and prepare for a night of flirtation, deception, and maybe even love… if you make it out alive.

Join us for an elegant (and very British!) workshop and talk with afternoon tea expert and author Jane Malyon. Learn the etiquette and history of afternoon tea, and how the social skills inherent in the ritual of afternoon tea can help make the world a better place.

Ticket includes the speaking event with Ms. Malyon, an elegant afternoon tea provided by The Old Course Hotel, and a copy of Ms. Malyon's book "Scone or Scone: The Essential Guide To British Afternoon Tea".

    About Jane Malyon:

Jane Malyon's interest is the etiquette, history and enjoyment of afternoon tea and she's been a speaker for decades, always leaving audiences smiling. However, in 2011 she started The English Cream Tea Company which delivers deluxe hampers of afternoon tea and treats all over mainland UK.

Jane's journey has included gaining a Guinness World Record for the largest English Cream Tea party.  She's given a TEDx talk called How Afternoon Tea Could Save The World (of course it could, she says!)...and also written 3 books including an Amazon best seller: "Scone or Scon(e) - the essential guide to British Afternoon Tea".

Science has shown that first impressions are made in just seven seconds. What impression are you making? As Americans living in Scotland, it can be difficult to tell. The nuances of British etiquette can be opaque for Americans.

Understanding and mastering the British cultural expectations can give you the edge professionally and socially and allow you to approach life in Britain (and beyond) with greater with confidence. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with author and internationally-recognised expert on British etiquette, William Hanson.

The programme includes the full-day training, a copy of Mr. Hanson's book "Just Good Manners: A Quintessential Guide to Courtesy, Charm, Grace and Decorum", and lunch at the newly re-opened Road Hole Restaurant.

    About William Hanson:

William Hanson is the leading expert in telling people how terribly uncivilised they are – but in the most polite way possible. Whether you’re royalty, a reality-TV reject, or someone who tragically thinks clinking glasses is correct, William has made it his life’s mission to rescue you from your own social ruin. William is director of The English Manner, the leading British etiquette training institute, where he advises on gracious living to anyone who will listen, including VIP households, multinational companies, educational institutes and private clients. His career has taken him from candlelight suppers with the cognoscenti to the murkier marshes of social media, where he bravely battles the forces of bad behaviour, one viral clip at a time. As well as being an etiquette coach and author, he co-hosts Help I Sexted My Boss (where he attempts to civilise Jordan North) and The Luxury Podcast (where he tries to avoid being asphyxiated by Jonathan Vernon-Smith’s Spanish cleaning products). He curtsies before bed and was born wearing cufflinks.

    Limited to 14 guests.

Bring the family and enjoy Afternoon Tea at the Old Course Hotel is truly an experience to be savoured. You can take in the beautiful setting and unrivalled views across the Old Course while you enjoy sandwiches, pastries, scones, cakes, and a wide selection of loose-leaf teas. Juice in pretty tea-cups will be available for children and a glass of champagne is included for adults.

We'll be making (non-messy) Christmas-themed craft projects that can be used as gifts or enjoyed for yourself. This is a great way for children to create their own Christmas gifts - just in time for the holiday.

A silent auction for Christmas tree center pieces will raise money for our designated AWCCS charity. Do some good, have some fun, and go home with a beautiful holiday center piece!

Please wear your festive best and come ready to enjoy a lovely day out with fellow members of AWCCS!
